The St. Louis Cardinals this week won their first NL central title since 2009. They beat out the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinatti Reds by three games. It was one of the closest races for a division title in recent memory. Also, they go into the post-season with homefield advantage, something they definitely could’ve used in last year’s post season, where they lost in back to back games in the NLCS to the San Francisco Giants, and ended hopes of back to back World Series titles. This years team looks destined for another World Series return as they’ll play the winner of the wild card game between the two teams that they beat out for the division crown.
