Game 2 of the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals series had the Cardinals down 1 game to zero. Pitching for the Cardinals in game 2 was Michael Wacha, a young superstar in the making, who coincidently was the draft pick the Cardinals got in compensation for former Cardinal slugger, Albert Pujols. Pitching in game 2 for the Red Sox was veteran John Lackey. The battle between old and young was a lot closer than game 1. The 22 year old Michael Wacha pitched 6 innings of 2 run baseball, just barely edging out John Lackey’s 6 innings of 3 run baseball. The Cardinals scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to escape Boston with a 4-2 win.
