The Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning met up with the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. In a game for the ages the Broncos jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the 1st half, but Brady and the Patriots stormed back with a 31-0 run for themselves. Peyton Manning finally came through in the 4th quarter as he produced a game tying drive. In overtime both teams battled some more before a mistake by former Patriot Wes Welker on a punt return forgot to call off the rest of the return team. The ball hit one of the Broncos special team players, and the Patriots recovered the fumble in Broncos territory and soon kicked a field goal to win the game.
